Meeting both people and the Malagasy Jesuits was largely fulfilled on the third day of Fr. General’s visit in Madagascar. Fr. Arturo Sosa and his entourage took the plane to head to the city of Mananjary located southeast of the Big Island, a place hit hard by Cyclone Batsirai of last February. Upon arrival by plane, Fr. General was greeted by cheerful crowds wherever he went.
In the Mananjary’ s cathedral, built by Jesuit missionaries Bishop Jose de Nobregas, the local ordinary highlighted the tireless work of the Society of Jesus in giving helping hands to the pastoral in his diocese.
